I think it's a great mechanic and I'm happy to see it has been carried on in future expansions. Unseen Forces came along and didn't change the game, but added a great mechanic: Blessings and Curses. As a newer player though, you can absolutely lose, since you don't know the game as well, and you're not able to judge an adventure card's difficulty as well as someone who has played it a lot. It would get to a point unless you made a mistake, you would win almost every time (unless the dice really hated you). What I meant was if you are a veteran of the game, you know all the ins and outs, what to do and what not to do, when to use clues, when to use extra dice, when to use spells.
